n September, after a two-year hiatus due to the covid crisis, A Coruña will once again host this event, which combines flavours and tourism.
The countdown to the next edition of the Galicia Gastronomic Forum has begun. After two years of hiatus due to covid, this reference event in the world of gastronomy will bring together again in A Coruña next September the best Galician, national and international chefs, and will demonstrate once again that this land has a lot to offer to those looking for experiences to enjoy with the palate.
This was emphasised by both the Director of Galicia Tourism, Nava Castro, and the Vice-President of the A Coruña Provincial Council, Xosé Regueira, at the presentation of the fifth Galicia Gastronomic Forum held last Thursday at the Finisterre Hotel in A Coruña. Both emphasized the importance of the alliance between tourism and gastronomy to promote Galicia and pointed out how the work developed by our chefs has allowed Galicia to become a reference destination in the national and international field. In fact, gastronomy is the second reason why tourists come to Galicia, second only to visits to places of tourist interest.
25th, 26th and 27th September are the dates chosen for this fifth Forum, which aims to repeat the success of previous editions. The 250 exhibitors and the hundred or so speakers who took part in the programme in 2019 attracted the attention of more than 24,000 visitors.
The activities at the next edition will be held on seven different stages: the Auditorium, where there will be talks by renowned chefs; the Workshops, where there will be courses and demonstrations for groups of between 50 and 60 people; the Agora, which will allow exhibitors to hold their presentations, demonstrations and tastings; the FórumLab, a meeting point for reflection on the most advanced gastronomy; Cook Trends, the space reserved for the Coruña Cocina collective; the Craft Beer Festival with its craft beers, and the Wine Circus with the wine market.
Sustainability will be another of the Forum’s major protagonists, as sustainable gastronomy, with the values it represents, will be the main theme on which all the talks and activities will be based, according to the organisers.
