Galicia Family Destination, a leading tourism model at the 1st Family Tourism Congress of the Valencian Community

  • The event brought together destinations, companies, and organizations specializing in the family segment.

The Galicia Tourism Cluster participated last week in the 1st Family Tourism Congress of the Valencian Community, organized by the Tour&Kids product club. The event brought together destinations, companies, and organizations in the sector to analyze the trends, challenges, and opportunities of a segment that continues to grow and gain relevance in the national tourism landscape.

During the event, Manuel Veloso, from the Cluster’s technical secretariat, presented the evolution and consolidation of the Galicia Family Destination (GDF) brand, the quality seal promoted by the Cluster with the support of the Xunta-Axencia Turismo de Galicia (Galician Tourism Agency), which brings together companies and establishments committed to offering services tailored to this family segment.

Veloso emphasized the work done in recent years to strengthen family tourism in Galicia, highlighting the importance of moving towards a more deseasonalized, responsible model focused on the quality of the experience. In his presentation, the Cluster representative also unveiled the new campaign, ‘Galicia, so for everyone’ designed to reinforce the emotional connection with families through a more authentic, welcoming, and intimate Galicia in autumn.

The Congress also provided an opportunity to review the current state of family tourism in Spain. The data presented by Tour&Kids confirms the strategic role of this segment, driven by the growth of the domestic market, the rise of short breaks beyond the summer season, the interest in less crowded destinations, and the increase in new travel formats such as getaways for grandparents and grandchildren or aunts/uncles and nieces/nephews. The growing demand for experiences that combine leisure and learning was also highlighted.
