The Eixo Atlántico has launched a new interactive tool that brings together, in a single space, the cultural, gastronomic, heritage, and natural attractions of Galicia and northern Portugal. The free-access digital guide provides up-to-date and customizable information on the popular festivals, concerts, sporting events, and gastronomic celebrations held in the Euroregion throughout the year.
This resource is part of the Eixo Atlántico tourism strategy, which seeks to consolidate a model based on excellence and free from overcrowding. Funded through the POST-Espacio Atlántico project, the guide complements other initiatives such as the Expocidades fair, focused on local tourism, and the promotion of new areas such as signature tourism, polycentric tourism, and adapted tourism.
One of its main attractions is the option to filter information to plan a trip based on the dates and municipality you want to visit, thus offering a personalized travel planner. Furthermore, the guide will also be available in English, with a special focus on the Camino de Santiago, to make it easier for pilgrims to expand their route and extend their stays.
The Eixo Atlántico emphasizes that the seven million inhabitants of Galicia and northern Portugal, along with the three million in the surrounding regions, represent an important market for local tourism during the 52 weekends of the year. The new guide aims to harness this potential and strengthen the Euroregion’s role as a leading cultural and leisure destination.
