The Galician Tourism Cluster (CTG) presented at FITUR the Accommodation Data Monitoring System, SIMADA, a free tool that offers relevant information, in real time, to hotel establishments so that they can optimize their strategies and improve their profitability.
During the presentation, which included the participation of the president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, and the director of the Tourism Agency, competitiveness of the sector, whose collaboration will be essential for it to be successful.”
The platform offers member companies updated data on occupancy, prices and sales channels, allowing them to make strategic decisions and adjust to market trends in real time. The information essentially comes from the management systems of the accommodations themselves and is complemented with web scrapping data from relevant tourist marketing sites and statistical information from the INE or AENA.
SIMADA is a free system that can be accessed by any hosting company that provides its data, which will always be consulted in an aggregated and anonymous manner, with all guarantees of security and confidentiality. Access to the information is done through an accessible and simple web application, designed so that any user can take full advantage of its functionalities without the need for advanced technical knowledge.
For the Cluster, this is an important initiative due to its impact on business profitability, which is why it will encourage its integration between accommodation companies, valuing its use in support orders or participation in workshops. Furthermore, the implementation of SIMADA will have the support of the regional administration, through an agreement with the Tourism Agency.
The launch of SIMADA responds to several of the challenges posed in the Galician Tourism Strategy 2030: increasing the profitability of companies, promoting the digital transformation of the sector and business collaboration to improve the governance of the destination.
