The Ministry of Tourism is earmarking 20 million euros for technological development projects that incorporate emerging technologies and a further 5 million for the implementation of technologies that have already been tested.
Companies in the tourism sector can now apply for aid launched by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism for the development and implementation of unique and transformative technological projects covering easily scalable and replicable processes and products with a clear focus on the end user and containing, among other aspects, improvements in digitisation and intelligence applied to management, promotion, enhancement and dissemination for destinations and the tourism sector.
The call published in recent days in the Official State Gazette is endowed with a total of 25 million euros and is part of the Plan for Modernisation and Competitiveness of the tourism sector financed with Next Generation funds. Of this total amount, 20 million will be allocated to the so-called Line 1, which will subsidise projects that incorporate emerging or newly developed technologies and improve the competitiveness of the sector in the field of the Internet of Things, 5G, big data, cybersecurity and mobile applications. The remaining 5 million correspond to Line 2 and will be used for the implementation of previously tested technologies. The budget of the projects that may be subsidised through Line 1 must be between 500,000 euros and 5 million euros, while in the case of Line 2 the range is between 300,000 and 750,000 euros.
Applications can be submitted until 2 July through the Ministry of Tourism’s electronic headquarters (https://sede.serviciosmin.gob.es), or its aid portal (https://www.mincotur.gob.es/PortalAyudas/). In addition, an e-mail address has been set up to resolve any doubts: consultas.ayudas@segittur.es
