The Official Gazette of Galicia published last week the extension of the deadline for tourist establishments located in coastal municipalities to apply for grants aimed at the aesthetic and functional improvement of properties situated on the beachfront. This initiative, with a budget of 5 million euros, is part of the Coastal Plan and aims to strengthen the scenic quality and competitiveness of Galician coastal tourism.
With the new resolution, hotels, campsites, rural tourism accommodations, apartments, hostels, and restaurants will have until 8:00 p.m. on December 12 to submit their applications through the Xunta’s online portal.
On Monday, November 17th, Turismo de Galicia organized a technical workshop to explain all the details of the funding opportunity to the sector. The Director of Turismo de Galicia, Xosé Merelles, opened the workshop, encouraging owners of accommodation and restaurants to apply for the grants, which aim to raise awareness of the need for conservation and promote the sustainability of destinations by enhancing coastal areas. More than 30 establishment owners attended, along with the Vice President of the Cluster, Jesús Picallo Santos.
