As part of the celebration of the Année de la Galice (Year of Galicia) at the 49th edition of the Lorient Interceltic Festival, which will take place from 2 to 11 August in this Breton town, Galician tourism will also be present through a space where more than 750,000 attendees will have access to information on the varied tourist offer and all the services that our autonomous community can offer them.
The action is part of the special program that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will develop within this international musical meeting dedicated to music and Celtic culture, as this year Galicia is the guest territory. On this occasion, a delegation of more than 300 Galician artists will disembark at the festival with the support of the Xunta, both in the official program and in the tent of Galicia, which in addition to music, will host workshops, an exhibition and actions to promote tourism.
Milladoiro, Carlos Núñez, Davide Salvado, Tiruleque or Xacarandaina appear in the poster of this “Year of Galicia” and in which the action headed by the Galician Tourism Cluster is framed in the internationalization actions carried out in Glasgow through the Celtic Connections, making Galicia known to the final public and promoting the complementarity of the cultural and tourist offer of Galicia as an internationalization tool. To this end, information will be provided on the wide range of Galician tourism, from accommodation, complementary offer (active tourism, wine routes, etc …) or tourism products. Attendees who pass through this space will be given brochures of Galician tourism companies, as well as tourist packages that may be purchased to visit Galicia. Additionally, to make it more attractive to attendees, we value the possibility of organizing a draw for a 7-day stay for two people, so that they can live the experience and become “presummers” of our community. All companies that are interested in bringing their tourist offer to this meeting, providing material in French, can contact secretariatecnica@clusterturismogalicia.com to coordinate the sending and receipt of material.
As a complement to the artistic programme, Galicia will show off its gastronomic wealth through the tasting of typical products, as well as promoting its quality as a tourist destination. In this sense, the conselleiro of Culture and Tourism, Román Rodríguez, emphasized that Lorient offers the great opportunity to show the wonderful cultural moment and the tourist potential of our Community in front of the Atlantic Europe, since the Interceltic Festival gathers in each edition more than 4.500 artists from Brittany, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Isle of Man and Ireland, as well as from Galicia and Asturias, besides 120.000 spectators with entrance and 750.000 visitors.
