The search for less costly and more efficient and environmentally friendly energy alternatives is an increasingly important issue in the tourism sector. In order to analyse this problem and propose solutions, the Galicia Tourism Cluster and the Galician Biomass Cluster have jointly scheduled an information day for Thursday 3 November, which will allow participants to learn about the benefits that the use of this bioenergy can have precisely in this double aspect of reducing costs and preserving the environment.

The conference will take place in online format between 16 and 19 hours with the participation of various experts and businessmen who are familiar with the benefits of biomass. Cesáreo Pardal, president of the Galicia Tourism Cluster, and his counterpart of the Biomass Cluster, Francisco Javier Álvarez, will be in charge of opening the session and welcoming all the speakers and participants.

The speakers at the conference will be Juan Jesús Ramos, a technician from the Spanish Association of Biomass Energy Recovery (Avebiom); Diego Fernández, technical director of Emisión Cero, and Bruno de Miranda, an industrial engineer specialising in thermal installations, who will address issues such as the potential of biomass in different types of establishments, biomass solutions for thermal uses in tourist businesses and the legal requirements in relation to the Technical Building Code and the Regulation on Thermal Installations in Buildings. In addition, there will be time to learn about specific experiences of using pellet boilers, wood gasification and wood chips in a rural tourism establishment, a holiday hotel and a spa hotel.

Participation in this conference co-financed by the Galician Forestry Industry Agency is free of charge and registration is now open via the following online form: https://clusterbiomasa.gal/xornada-informativa-uso-de-biomasa-no-sector-turistico/
