The Xunta designs the second phase of the Strategic Plan for recreational boating, with the horizon set for 2020-2028

Giving continuity to the roadmap of the nautical tourism sector, the Consellería do Mar, through Portos de Galicia, is working on the design of the second phase of the Strategic Plan for Recreational Sailing (PENR), which extends the current 2012-2020 period to 2020-2028, thus establishing the strategy for recreational boating for the next decade.
For the preparation of this new phase of the PENR, Portos de Galicia is organising an information day for the sector on 6th April which will attempt to present and agree on the guidelines established by the public body. The conference will be chaired by the Regional Minister for the Sea, Rosa Quintana, and will have 200 guests including institutions, nautical entities, clubs, companies and specialists in the field of recreational boating.
The program of the day will be made up of various presentations by the technical directorate of Portos de Galicia, which will present the strategy proposed by the public administration, as well as by specialists in the nautical sector belonging to the field of private enterprise and nautical associations. These interventions will address issues such as the new model of port management, sustainability, cross-border nautical projects or the business of recreational boating and will be led by Felipe Barros, who Serumano, Manuel Soliño, president of AGAN, which will address the cross-border nautical projects and Manuel Cameáns, who will address the nautical business.
Since 2012, Portos de Galicia has been applying the PENR which functions as a single guideline for the management and planning of the recreational boating offer in Galicia. This document includes not only aspects related to infrastructures, but also to management formulas, corporate social responsibility, environmental sustainability and public promotion, among others.
