Until 31 January 2019, companies and self-employed persons who do not have Internet access of at least 30 Mbps may apply.

The Xunta will allocate 600,000 euros to aid to subsidize up to 100% of the costs of the tasks for the provision of ultra-fast broadband, with a maximum of 20.000 euros per beneficiary within the second call of the lines of aid for the provision of ultra-fast broadband framed in the Broadband Plan of the Xunta, which complements the action launched in 2016 to provide Internet connection of up to 350Mbps to 81 industrial parks, promoted by the Agency for Technological Modernization of Galicia (Amtega) to extend ultra-fast broadband networks in the Community.

Under this new call until 31 January next companies and self-employed rural isolated areas may apply for aid for access to ultra-fast broadband. In this new call interested parties may submit applications individually or in groups of companies, with the aim in this second case to facilitate the provision of ultra-fast services to companies and self-employed located in nearby locations.

After a first line of subsidies to companies and self-employed with 500,000 euros in aid in 2017, the Amtega allocated to this second call another 600,000 euros. The aid will subsidize up to 100% of the costs of the tasks necessary to provide ultra-fast broadband to the company, up to a maximum of € 20,000 per project. However, the projects must have a minimum cost of €2,000. These grants are co-financed 75% by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) under the Galicia Rural Development Plan 2014-2020 (RDP).

Deadlines and characteristics of the call

The main requirements and duties to be fulfilled by applicants will be to not currently have the possibility of access to ultra-fast networks of at least 30 megabytes and to maintain the high in the service initially contracted for at least 1 year. For each application, the improvement of the ultra-fast broadband service included in the proposal, the expected investment effort and the applications received from small businesses will also be assessed.
