Xunta and the tourism sector will collaborate this Easter Week in the dissemination of the new system of access to Cíes among visitors

Passengers must previously request an administrative, personal and non-transferable permit, through the web enabled for this purpose.

The directors of Natural Heritage and Tourism of Galicia held a meeting with professionals from the tourism sector and representatives of travel agencies in order to learn their impressions of the new system of access to the Cíes Islands and analyze the new features introduced to visit the park. The main novelty is the duty of travelers to obtain prior authorization for access, personal and non-transferable, through the website authorizationsillasatlanticas.xunta.gal, authorized by the Agency for Technological Modernization of Galicia (Amtega). The new system, which has been operational for a week and has already issued more than 1,500 authorizations, is very similar to the one implemented since 2015 to access Praia das Catedrais.
During the next Easter Week, coinciding with the first phase of implementation of the system, the sector and the administration will collaborate in making known the new access system, so professionals took advantage of the day to resolve technical questions about the web. Once the required authorisation has been obtained, the visitor can download it to his mobile device or print it out for subsequent verification in port by the staff of the Islas Atlánticas Maritime-Terrestrial National Park.
User information and resolution
In fact, at the same time, a mechanism for reading and controlling the QR codes that have all the authorizations inserted in them will also be in place, which will be linked to the website in real time. This will allow the park personnel deployed in the ports of Vigo, Bayonne and Cangas as well as in Rhodes, in Cies, to check the validity of passenger authorizations. It should be noted that these first sites have also installed information displays attended by staff of the National Park to explain the new system of access to visit the Cíes.

The transport companies, on the other hand, will use a system similar to the one used in previous years to check the availability of the daily quota to visit the Cíes before issuing the tickets.
