The Mozarabic Road to its passage through San Cristovo de Cea premiered signage for its equestrian route, a task that counted on the collaboration for its homologation of the Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation. The action completes the preexisting signage, with the objective of reporting conflicting points for the passage of horses and the proposed diversions to save them. With these works undertaken by Galicia Tourism, the Mozárabe Road will be the first route to be homologated as an equestrian itinerary in Galicia, announced the Director of Tourism of Galicia, Nava Castro, who said that the works involved an investment of more than 48,000 euros .

The works include marking of horizontal signage and installation of vertical signaling elements – address and location posts, tracking posts and information panels.
The proposed equestrian route has a total length of 236.6 km and crosses the provinces of Ourense, Pontevedra and A Coruña, from the municipality of A Mezquita to Santiago de Compostela, overlapping with the current Via de la Plata.

Nava Castro said that with this initiative another of the actions foreseen in the Master and Strategic Plan of the Camino de Santiago is fulfilled. “Without a doubt, a great claim for all lovers of horses and equestrian world who will have the opportunity to make this Mozarabic slope of the Camino de Santiago with total ease and safety,” he concluded.
