The project, which also includes the Parador de Baiona, aims to ensure the preservation and sustainability of these historic buildings, with an investment of 340,000 euros in its planning.
Turespaña has awarded a contract worth 340,000 euros for the drafting of a conservation master plan for the Parador de Cambados, one of the most emblematic paradors in the network, considered a Cultural Heritage Site. This project is part of a total investment of eleven million euros aimed at preserving more than 50 of these historic buildings throughout Spain.
The Parador de Cambados will be part of a package that also includes the Parador de Baiona, located in the Monterreal fortress. The contract was awarded to the architecture firm Ezcurra and Ousande, based in Santiago. The plan aims to ensure proper conservation of both paradors, implement sustainability projects, and promote the rehabilitation of historical heritage for tourism purposes.
The contract, which will be formalized in March, stipulates that the master plan must be delivered within a maximum of 15 months. This document will serve as a technical guide to plan future interventions in the buildings, helping to develop more efficient and heritage-respecting conservation work.
Currently, the Paradores de Turismo network has 98 establishments, but only 53 of them will benefit from a Conservation Master Plan in this phase, including the one in Cambados.
In addition to this investment, Paradores has recently allocated over one million euros for improvements at the Cambados establishment, with 700,000 euros for exterior carpentry renewal and 460,000 euros to improve interior climate control.
