Travellers surveyed by the escape portal Weekendesk generally approve with note of the health measures that Spanish hotels have put in place to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Cleanliness and disinfection are the elements most valued by these users who rate Cantabria, Asturias and Castile La Mancha as the regions with the best accommodation in terms of compliance with the protocols approved by the health authorities to ensure the health and safety of guests.

According to the analysis made based on the answers of the Weekendesk.es users, Catalonia and Valencia also appear in the ranking, all of them with scores between 8 and 8.3 out of 10, followed by the Galician accommodations, with 7.9 points, followed by Castilla y León (7.8), Andalusia (7.5) and the Region of Murcia (7.1).

In order to rate the hotels, clients value the fact that the hotels comply with fundamental aspects such as daily and thorough cleaning and disinfection with virucidal products of common areas and rooms, implementation of measures to avoid contact with commonly used materials, adaptation of common spaces to guarantee distance, capacity control in the different areas, provision of hygiene products such as hydro-alcoholic gels, adequate information by employees on anti-Covid measures, as well as due protection to avoid being carriers, among others.

In addition to a reduction in decoration or textiles, many establishments have also opted for the implementation of digital tools to improve distancing measures such as the implementation of QR codes to offer information or menus, a system for opening the room with the mobile phone or express check-in systems via email to minimize contact, in addition to adapting buffet breakfasts for other more personalized, or adaptation of thermal services designed for the new normality.
