A more dynamic website with more tools to plan trips and a campaign eminently aimed at European tourists are the two elements underpinning the new international strategy launched this week by Turespaña. With the slogan “Back to Spain”, “the campaign reinforces the reasons and emotions that have made our country their favourite destination in a year where the competition to attract tourists who decide to travel abroad will be very pronounced”, explained the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, who was responsible, together with the Secretary of State for Tourism, Isabel Oliver, for presenting the new promotional strategy aimed at foreign visitors, especially European ones.
“The special circumstances of this summer make it necessary to launch an advertising campaign with which we want to remind international tourists that holidays in Spain are a safe bet,” said the Minister at the presentation of the campaign with which the Government seeks to regain confidence in Spain as a tourist destination against competition with these two tools: the new campaign and the renovation of the tourist portal.
The concern about the resurgence will continue to be present, but that is why the Government seeks to launch certainty and guarantees for tourists who are thinking of coming to Spain while highlighting the responsibility of the sector in the implementation of protocols against COVID19 that have prevented resurgence linked to tourism activity so far. “We have to live with the coronavirus, but that does not mean that we do not have to enjoy a well-deserved holiday” both the Spanish and the citizens of other countries who visit us. Furthermore, she has stated that she can say that “Spain is a safe tourist destination”.
The minister has indicated that 7,000 activities of the tourist sector have already requested the stamp of Responsible Tourism, which is going to allow to validate the 22 protocols of security against the coronavirus that were elaborated for the sector
The new portal
On the other hand, the new tourism portal maintains the domain spain.info, but it is completely renewed after 19 years in operation. It is now more dynamic and with greater visual impact and highlights the new tools that focus on facilitating travel planning with interactive maps.
In addition, information is improved with the download of digital brochures or the possibility of booking among the more than 2,000 tourist experiences that are marketed through the portal, which receives more than 15 million visits a year.
