From 21 to 24 November will participate 300 national and international exhibitors and will develop a recruitment exchange, Intur Business, which will again be present the Galician tourist offer

The XXIII edition of the International Fair of Interior Tourism (Intur) to be held between 21 and 24 November at the Feria de Valladolid will have Portugal as ‘guest country’ and will have an extensive program of activities, with the participation of 300 national and international exhibitors, which seek to position Castile and Leon as a “reference” in the sector of interior tourism.

The appointment is presented as a meeting point “open, professional and exhibition” in which Castile and Leon highlights all its tourism potential and is shown as a national benchmark for tourism “quality, diverse and multicultural. The event will also host, for the first time, a meeting of the Autonomous Council of Tourism in order to “enhance” the fair as a “tool” for participation and advice on promoting the strategic lines defined in the framework of the Strategic Tourism Plan of Castilla y León.

Portugal will be the guest country on this occasion, a choice that has not been “trivial” but has taken into account the integrative nature of the River Douro between both border territories and the multiple synergies between the two. “We were looking for a rapprochement with Portugal for what this entails,” acknowledged the director general of Tourism, Estrella Torrecilla, who recalled that until June this year have been eight million international tourists who have landed at the airport of Porto, of which 20% travel to Galicia and only three percent to Castile and Leon.

As usual, the first two days will be aimed at professionals, for whom has enabled a schedule “very European” that will go from 9.30 to 18.30 hours, while in the days of Saturday and Sunday, access to the general public, the schedule will be from 10.30 to 20.30 hours. Among the novelties of this edition are the Community of Madrid, which returns to Intur, as well as Paradores, Renfe, the group Sercotel, the wine route of Valdeorras or Spanish and Portuguese municipalities, among others. A total of 300 exhibitors will be present at Intur, which this year will hold the second Spanish-Portuguese meeting in which professionals from both countries, exhibitors and tour operators from the Iberian tourism market will participate.

There will also be space for Intur Gastromarket and Corner of Experiences. The first is a market in which visitors can purchase products linked to the gastronomy of a territory, while the second initiative is a platform that allows Intur exhibitors to publicize their innovations, such as destinations, products and services in a format “agile and close”.

Intur Rural y Activo will be attended by companies from Salamanca, Valladolid, León, Teruel, Cantabria, Cádiz, Asturias, Madrid and Soria in this space designed primarily for small rural tourism businesses that in addition to marketing their services offer activities for all audiences. And history will again have its place in this year’s edition of Intur, with a total of 16 historical recreations throughout the weekend.
