A trade mission of the Galician MICE sector has participated, once again, in the IMEX fair in Frankfurt, one of the most important professional meetings and incentives in the field of congress, meeting and incentive tourism. Representatives of this sector such as ExpoCoruña or Palexco together with Turismo de A Coruña and Turismo de Galicia were present at this fair held between 15 and 17 May in Germany to further strengthen the Galician MICE sector. With the help of Turismo de Galicia and under the umbrella of Turespaña, which managed professional meetings and presentations, the professionals who made up the trade mission held meetings to give Galicia, and more specifically A Coruña, as an ideal destination for trade fair tourism, conferences, incentives, product presentations or to hold meetings of companies.
Thus, for example, Galician professionals held a working meeting with seven Brazilian tour operators, who were very interested in knowing the destination Galicia. The gastronomy, landscapes and, of course, the Pilgrim’s Way to Santiago were once again the main attractions for these companies looking for locations to hold fairs, product presentations or team building meetings. Companies and agencies from Sweden, Belgium, Germany and Portugal were also interested in Galicia. ExpoCoruña met more than 20 companies, including agencies and tour operators, most of them European.
Attendance at this meeting is also useful for our professionals to learn about new trends in the organisation and holding of meetings, as well as to increase contacts and generate synergies with suppliers and professionals dedicated to the different aspects of organising congresses, meetings and company incentives. The IMEX fair in Frankfurt has become an essential event for the MICE sector, with more than 3,500 exhibitors from 150 countries and the visit of almost 10,000 professionals from the sector.
