Expourense hosts this Thursday and Friday a new edition of Termatalia, which has the support of the Xunta, the Diputación and the City of Ourense and which will meet 269 exhibitors, 26 tour operators and will be represented 34 countries with significant presence of Latin America and Eurupa. To the fair joins the Thermatalia Week, that is celebrated also in the capital ourensana from the 17 with the International Congress of Thermalism 2021-2027: dynamization of the territories and demographic challenge in the Spa of Lobios and the III International Symposium on Thermalism and Quality of Life, organized by the University of Vigo.
In this nineteenth edition the Xunta de Galicia will participate, in addition, with an exhibitor in which the Galician thermal offer will be presented and the presence of tour operators of different countries is also foreseen, as well as specialized means of diverse parts of the world. In this sense, the director of Tourism of Galicia, Nava Castro, emphasized the “deseasonalising, diversifying capacity and the economic impulse that the thermalism is having in Galicia”, a segment by which the Galician government is making a strong bet as much through the support to the Chair of Medical Hydrology of the University of Santiago as of the innovation, facilitating a process of documentation in the Galician spas; with the infrastructures, improving the lodging capacity of the spas and signalling the thermal villas or with the setting in motion of pioneering normative initiatives as the Law of recreational use of the thermal waters, a new regulation whose setting in motion will serve “to reinforce the quality of the Galician thermal offer, giving legal security and guarantees to the tourist projects that by their characteristics cannot be considered spas and that did not have until now of a specific regulation nor updated”.
Termatalia will be, in addition, the chosen frame for the beginning of the first action of the project “Un descanso nos Camiños” promoted by the Cluster of Tourism of Galicia at the request of the partners Expourense, Spas of Galicia, Caldaria Group and the Provincial Federation of Hostelería of Ourense and that counts on the support of the Consellería of Culture and Tourism. This project seeks to promote stays in the spas of the Roads of Santiago and Termatalia will star in one of the workshops, for which the registration period is open, with the aim of establishing criteria for the design of new products, as well as negotiation for marketing.
