Three members of the Ruta do Viño Rías Baixas, part of the Product Club of the Wine Routes of Spain, have been awarded in the Wine Tourism Awards ‘Wine Routes of Spain 2018. More specifically, the Cambados Town Hall and the Marqués de Vizhoja and Paco & Lola wineries. Cambados has been named the Best Oenotourism Municipality “for the level of conservation and protection of its historical heritage (one of the best conserved historical areas of Galicia), for its environment of vineyards and wineries and its work to promote wine culture and gastronomy, especially through the Albariño Rías Baixas Wine Festival, created in 1953, according to the jury. For its part, Bodegas Marqués de Vizhoja received recognition for its Commitment to Society and the Environment, for “the initiative to develop awareness days to reflect and seek synergies between agricultural and forestry professionals for fire prevention” while the cooperative Paco & Lola has obtained a special mention for the Best Wine Tourism Experience for its proposal Son & Sal.

From the Ruta do Viño Rías Baixas congratulate “the rewarded associates for their good work. The recognition of their work in favour of wine tourism contributes to positioning our itinerary as one of the main destinations in the country”. In addition, the non-profit association took the opportunity to encourage other member establishments “to submit their proposals to the next edition of the Wine Tourism Awards ‘Rutas del Vino de España’, as they are a springboard to increase the visibility of the good work being carried out in our territory.

New success for the Mountain Bike Route
On the other hand the Ruta do Viño Rías Baixas, also celebrates the success of the sporting event that has brought together 200 cycling lovers who had the opportunity to discover the subzone of O Rosal on their bicycles through the III BTT Ruta do Viño Rías Baixas that began and ended in the square of the Concello de O Rosal. All participants received two gifts: a commemorative t-shirt and a bottle of Rías Baixas wine. From the non-profit association are very satisfied by the “excellent response that, one more year, has recorded this appointment” but, in addition, was raffled an enopack consisting of a guided tour of a winery adhered to the Route do Viño Rías Baixas in O Rosal and a lunch or dinner at an associated restaurant also located in this same subzone.
