The Association of Professionais do Turismo da Costa da Morte (APTCM) recently held its annual meeting in Vimianzo, which reviewed the work of 2017 and set the objectives for 2018, focusing on collaboration with CMAT, the Xunta, the Deputation, the GDR and the GALP. In addition, among the main objectives for this year were established the elaboration of the strategic plan and the promotion of active tourism as fundamental goals.
The assembly thus served to assess the actions of the entity during 2017, among which its presence in specialized sector fairs such as Fitur, Turexpo, Intur, Rimini, Berlin and the Fairway in Santiago, with its own space, but also the signing of the agreement with the Xunta, the creation of products or promotional campaigns carried out. For 2018, in addition to this plan so demanded by many mayors, in which the Xunta will have an important role in financing it, APTCM intend, beyond the general Galician line that bets on gastronomy, to focus on active tourism. That is to say: to train professionals so that, for example, they can exercise as hiking guides or to create a calendar that gathers all the main sporting events of the Costa da Morte, when it comes to promoting them among the tour operators and potential visitors. From the Deputation, apart from other support, they basically expect the technical secretariat to finance them and with the GDR and GALP 3 (they hope to do so with 4) they are already in the process of taking advantage of each other’s work. Already in internal order decided to raise the fees from 50 to 100 euros per year and start a door-to-door campaign to add affiliates.
