PortAmérica, Resurrection Fest, Atlantic Fest, Vive Nigrán, Sinsal SON Estrella Galicia, 17ºRibeira Sacra, SonRías Baixas, Revenidas, Festival de la Luz and WOS Festival are the 10 meetings that adhered to this call.

The Department of Culture and Education through the Galician Agency for Cultural Industries (Agadic) has just launched a new initiative to support summer music festivals with the creation of the brand Fest Galicia, which has enjoyed the collaboration of the Galician music sector itself. Under this brand the Xunta will deploy a transversal support plan through the regional administration, as it involves different departments of the Xunta, to contribute to the promotion of the Galician territory as a musical destination under quality, sustainability and social responsibility criteria.

This initiative is launched with 10 summer festivals, which are part of a public call for proposals and which function professionally and are concerned with providing added value to the musical experience both in their activities and in their management and organisation: PortAmérica, Resurrection Fest, Atlantic Fest, Vive Nigrán, Sinsal SON Estrella Galicia, 17ºRibeira Sacra, SonRías Baixas, Revenidas, Festival de la Luz and WOS Festival.

Within the framework of this plan, the Regional Ministry will promote, among other actions, impact measurement studies and direct and indirect return studies of this type of festivals; a manual of good practices covering the legal, environmental, labour, etc. fields, with the aim of serving as a guide for all festivals; and a quality seal for those events that work in a professional and sustainable manner, as well as the development of a strategic plan together with the sector with which it has already collaborated through the recently established Association of Galician Festivals.

FEST Galicia will be promoted inside and outside Galicia through a communication plan that includes short, medium and long-term actions, such as joint presentations under this umbrella. In the first phase, which corresponds to the current summer festival season of 2018, the brand will be present at all events through its own space for dissemination and awareness, as well as campaigns, actions and lines of work in different areas, specifically adapted to each of these musical meetings and with the direct collaboration of other departments of the Xunta, such as the Department of the Environment, the Secretary General of Equality, the General Secretariat of Language Policy, Tourism of Galicia or the Directorate General of Youth, Participation and Volunteering.
