The head of the Galician Government, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, advanced today, in the press conference of the Council, the tourist data registered in our Community last year. They are the best in our history, he said, with “record number of overnight stays”, about 11 million and almost 5.1 million tourists.

Galicia is also the Community where tourism has grown the most in 2019. Specifically, 6%, well above the 1% state growth. In line with this, Feijóo stressed that these data prove that Galicia is increasingly competitive thanks to the commitment to quality and the close cooperation established with the sector.

In this sense, Feijóo congratulated by these results to the tourist sector that come to demonstrate that the competitiveness of the sector is being improved. In fact, Galicia increased its profitability by seven points, well above the national average of around 3.2%.

Finally, the president of the Xunta stressed the objective of reaching Xacobeo 2021 with the best data and the best possible image of Galicia, with the confidence that it will be the best Xacobeo in our history in the best Galicia of our history.
