In June, Galicia received 148.184 international tourists, most of them from Portugal, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, the latter of which increased considerably the number of citizens visiting our territory during this month of June, from a little more than 5000 a More than 13.000 (+ 130%) to the detriment of other countries such as Italy, which declines significantly, according to the data provided by the INE through its Frontier Movements Statistics (Frontur).

This new increase in the arrival of tourists Foreigners to Galicia translates into an increase of 27% over the same period last year, fifteen points higher than in the national group, which also increases the number of foreign tourists, 11.6%, which Means that our country received last month the visit of 8.4 million international tourists. Most international tourists arriving in Galicia do so through the airport (with a 19% increase in arrivals compared to June 2016) and stay in hotels.

Like the rest of the territory Galicia continues on the path of growth of this type of tourist, a trend already detected in May this year and that marks a positive growth rate in the first six months of the year.

Among the most important issuing markets for Galicia complete the ranking, along with Portugal, United Kingdom, France and Germany, the United States and Switzerland. In the whole of Spain the main tourist destinations of foreign tourism continue to be the Balearic Islands, Catalonia and Andalusia, which continue to increase the number of international tourists.
