Profitable participation of Galician tourism at ITB Berlin

The members of the trade mission organized by the Cluster held dozens of meetings during the international tourism fair in the German capital.

 

The Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization and the National Director of Tourism of Uruguay, among other authorities, visited the Galician stand and talked with representatives of the Cluster.

 

Several days of intense activity, with various meetings and gatherings, in which Galicia was once again seen and highlighted on the international scene through its tourism sector. This it can sums up the Galician trade mission organized by the Galicia Tourism Cluster at ITB Berlin, which had as a reference place for its activities the space reserved for the Galicia Tourism Agency within the stand of Turespaña. From there our representatives deployed in the international tourism fair in the German capital its extensive range of proposals attracting the attention of numerous operators and national and international authorities.

 

Rutas Meigas, Tee Travel, Pazo Los Escudos, Viajes Interrías, ArtNatura, Pazo do Río, Hostel Monasterio de Moraime, MEGA Mundo Estrella Galicia, Circuitos Galicia Viajes, Always Spain Incoming, OCA Hotels, EasyGalicia, the Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions of Galicia and the Galician Association of Active, Adventure and Nature Tourism Companies (Agetan) are the companies and entities that were part of this trade mission led by the president of the Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal; the vice-president, Jesús Picallo, and the member of the executive board, Sara Santos. They were also accompanied during the opening day by the director of Tourism of Galicia, Nava Castro.

 

One of the main responsible for the tourism sector at the international level, the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization, Zurab Pololiskashvili, came to the stand of Galicia at ITB Berlin and had the opportunity to talk with Cesáreo Pardal, Jesús Picallo and Nava Castro, about the current situation of the sector. The Secretary of State for Tourism, Rosana Morillo Rodríguez; the Spanish ambassador in Germany, Ricardo Martínez Vázquez; and the general director of Turespaña, Miguel Sanz, as well as members of other Spanish representations at the ITB in Berlin, such as the head of Tourism of Málaga, Jacobo Florido, also visited the space reserved for Galicia.

 

The presence of the Cluster in the German fair allowed other meetings, such as the one held by Cesáreo Pardal with the National Director of Tourism of Uruguay, Roque Baudean Maddalena, to address issues related to the celebration this year in the South American country of Termatalia, the International Fair of Thermal Tourism, Health and Welfare organized by Expourense and that has the Cluster among its partners.

 

Another of the activities in which the Cluster was present was in the awards ceremony held during the Night of Spain, and in which the German agency Olimar received an award as marketer of the route of O Camiño dos Faros organized from Galicia by Rutas Meigas. The representative of Rutas Meigas at the ITB, as well as the president and vice-president of the Cluster were present at the award ceremony.
