The entity has been awarded by the Xunta together with a score of collectives and diverse people.
Cesáreo Pardal received the award during the ceremony held in Santiago to take stock of the double Holy Year.
The act held by the Xunta on Friday, February 17 in Santiago de Compostela to take stock of the past Xacobeo 21-22 has also served to recognize the contribution of some entities and individuals to the success of this exceptional double Holy Year. Among the winners during the gala chaired by the regional president, Alfonso Rueda, was the Galicia Tourism Cluster, which was awarded in the Xacobeo Institutional section together with the International Pilgrim Reception Center; the Commonwealth of Municipalities of the French Way, the Commonwealth of Town Halls of the Fisterra-Muxía Way, Turespaña and the Madrid City Council.
The president of the Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, received the award from the hands of the Regional Minister of Culture, Education, Vocational Training and University, Román Rodríguez, in a ceremony in which he was also accompanied by a large group of members of the board of the entity as the vice president, Jesús Picallo; the treasurer, Alfonso Martínez Cacheda, and the members Belén Montero López, Francisco González López, Juan Antonio Rivadulla Fernández, Luisa Lorenzo and Sara Santos.
There was also recognition for other representatives of the tourism sector, such as the Galician Association of Private Hostels (Agalber), distinguished in the category Xacobeo Acollida, and Siente Galicia, in the category Xacobeo Experiencias.
The president of the Xunta thanked the work in favour of the Way of St. James carried out by all the winners and highlighted the spectacular figures that have turned the Xacobeo 21-22 into a historic period. Alfonso Rueda detailed that last year 438,600 compostelas were delivered, but noted that pilgrims who completed at least 100 kilometres of travel to Santiago were more than 700,000.
