Travel journalists from national and foreign media highly value the “Galicia Sustainable Destination” initiative

  • A group of professionals participated last week in a press trip, organized by the Cluster to publicize the platform.
  • Galicia Sustainable Destination”seeks to integrate the sustainable tourism offer of the Community and already has more than 100 member companies and more than 150 products.

 

Travel journalists who participated last week in the press trip, organized by the Tourism Cluster, to learn about “Galicia Sustainable Destination” described the initiative as “very positive”. The platform, the result of collaboration between the Cluster and the Xunta, began its journey in July 2021 with the aim of integrating the sustainable tourism offer of the Community. Today it offers more than 150 products and has more than 100 member companies. The variety of the offer and the attributes of Galicia as a sustainable destination were other aspects highlighted by the participants in the press trip.

 

From September 26 to 28, a group of travel journalists had the opportunity to experience some of the experiences offered by “Galicia Sustainable Destination”.

 

The places chosen to visit were some of the lesser-known areas not usually included in tourist packages.

 

The trip began in Ourense, where they visited A boa migalla, the Oseira monastery, the Casa Gazparra pulperia, the Termas de Prexigueiro, the Cuña Davia wineries and the Pazo de Esposende.

 

On the second day they visited Ribadavia, Olivares, O Con Restaurante, the Aldán estuary, Salinas do Ulló and the Hotel Quinta San Amaro.

 

On the last day they visited the island of Cortegada and D´Leria, in Pontevedra.

 

The experience was completed with the obligatory stops to taste the local gastronomy and stay in accommodation, both from companies adhering to the platform, and from others that share the same values ​​of the initiative: commitment to sustainability and the local, environmental commitment and commitment to good governance, transparency and good practices.
