O Salnés marks the roadmap for tourism in the region until 2028

  • Last Thursday, October 24, the presentation of the 2024-2028 Strategic Plan took place.

The Salnés region took a firm step towards sustainable and balanced tourism with the presentation of its Strategic Tourism Plan 2024-2028, which took place at the Lagar de Pintos winery in Ribadumia. This plan, aligned with the strategies of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra and the Xunta de Galicia, seeks to consolidate Salnés and the province as an attractive destination throughout the year, highlighting its natural and cultural wealth, with a focus on sustainability and in key sectors such as wine tourism.

Luis López, president of the Pontevedra Provincial Council, highlighted the importance of having a clear and shared roadmap that allows progress towards a tourism model that not only respects the natural environment, but also promotes local culture and tradition.

In the presentation, the director of Tourism of Galicia, Xosé Merelles, highlighted the relevance of institutional collaboration and planning in the tourist success of the region, especially in September, when Pontevedra led the number of overnight stays in Galicia. Merelles highlighted that initiatives such as this plan not only strengthen the tourist attraction of the region, but also promote a sustainable development model that fits with the objectives of the Galicia 2030 Tourism Strategy.

The Salnés Strategic Plan also includes the commitment of this region to the Rías Baixas Tourism 61 Strategy, launched by the Provincial Council, which promotes unique experiences in the 61 municipalities of the province, aimed at de-seasonalizing demand and avoiding overcrowding in natural environments. This provincial strategy prioritizes respectful contact with nature and quality tourism that offers visitors authentic experiences of the region.
