New tourist office at Santiago airport

Santiago de Compostela opens a new tourist office, located in the arrivals hall of Lavacolla Airport. It is a 100 m² facility that is shared between the Xunta and the City Council of Compostela. They are intended to improve the quality of care for passengers and pilgrims arriving in Galicia through this airport, the largest flow of arrivals in Galicia with a volume of 2,723,296 passengers last year (3% more than in 2017).

Thus, pilgrims, tourists and users will find when they get off the plane advice on the resources and attractions of our land, events, accommodation, timetables or transport. This new tourist office had a budget of more than 150,000 euros and has a current design by the regional government, with the aim of providing information on all resources and attractions of the Community, as well as events and activities of interest, accommodation, guides and travel agencies, restaurants, transport, opening hours or routes, among others.

Reinforcement of offices
These new facilities are in addition to the tourist office in Mazarelos Square and the existing one in the International Pilgrim Reception Center on Carretas Street. These three facilities are already part of the objectives set out in the Galicia 2020 Tourism Strategy, agreed with the sector in favour of quality and responsible tourism.
