More than 8 million domestic travelers have stayed in tourist homes in the last two years

36% of travel or leisure vacionales were in this type of housing in 2016, according to the barometer of HomeAway

HomeAway has published its III Barometer holiday accommodation in Spain in offering a snapshot of national tourist who choose this type of accommodation, which has reached a figure of 8.5 million passengers in the last two years, 36% of leisure travel in 2016. This number of users has generated an economic impact that the report drawn up jointly with the University of Salamanca estimated at 12.3 million euros, of which 2,622 billion going to the renting and 9,696 million to the costs incurred during their stay in the environment.
As highlighted by the HomeAway report, it has increased the number of trips per year although it has reduced the average length of stay, the average price of 27 euros per person / night compared to 24 euros in 2014. Another trend that has worsened in the last two years has been shopping at the last minute because if in 2014 58% of users reserved with less than two months before, two years later this percentage has risen to 77%.

The majority user profile is used by these homes for their comfort and price for family trips being satisfaction and intention to recommend very high. The main destinations are Andalusia (26%), Valencia (15%), Catalonia (13%) and Canarias (11%) while Madrid is the first home market for users of this type of accommodation (22.1% ).
