The Galician hotel sector continues to post record-breaking results as of the end of October 2025. According to the latest data published by the National Statistics Institute (INE), between January and October, Galician hotels and guesthouses earned €408.1 million, 5.2% more than in the same period of 2024, the highest level recorded to date.
The performance in October confirms this trend. Hotel establishments billed €41.7 million (a year-on-year increase of 3.1%), which also represents the best figure in the historical series for this month. Demand mirrored this growth: Galicia received 510,686 travelers, 1.4% more than in October of last year, thus surpassing its own monthly record.
Overall, the hotel sector recorded 887,897 overnight stays during the month, the second-highest figure for an October in Galicia. Domestic tourism continues to be the main driver, accounting for around 65% of overnight stays, while the international market maintains its upward trend and now represents 35% of demand. The boost from the United States is particularly noteworthy, with a 7.3% increase and 37,388 travelers staying in Galicia this month alone.
The provincial distribution of overnight stays once again places A Coruña in the lead, concentrating 44% of hotel nights in October. It is followed by Pontevedra (35%), Lugo (15%), and Ourense (7%).
Pending the inclusion of data from other types of accommodation (such as rural tourism, campsites, hostels, etc.), hotel indicators suggest that 2025 is on track to be one of the best years for the Galician tourism sector.
