Galicia’s rural tourism establishments are the most highly rated in Spain.

With a score of 4.7 out of 5, together with those of the Basque Country, they top the ranking compiled by the clubrural.com portal.

The 2022 Rural Tourism Barometer also shows that Galician accommodation is slightly cheaper than the national average.

The portal specialising in the field of rural tourism clubrural.com has just published the ninth edition of its Rural Tourism Barometer, a study which has taken into account 14,000 accommodations and 200,000 travellers from all over Spain to carry out a detailed analysis of the situation of this sector, as well as its “trends, threats and opportunities”.

The most significant data with regard to Galicia is that the accommodation of this type located in the community are, together with those in the Basque Country, the most highly valued in the whole of Spain. In both cases, customers rate them 4.7 out of 5, which is three tenths more than the national average (4.4), thus surpassing territories with a greater supply and demand for rural tourism establishments.

In the case of supply, accommodation located in Galicia accounts for 4.6% of the national total, well below other territories such as Castile and León (20.1%), Andalusia (13.8%), Catalonia (12.9%), Castile-La Mancha (8.9%) or Asturias (7.8%). In terms of demand, the ranking of the most sought-after destinations is headed by Catalonia, with 23.7%, followed by Castile and Leon (12.5%) and Andalusia (11.7%).

With regard to average prices, some of the territories with the highest number of accommodations are at the bottom of the ranking with figures such as 27.5 euros per person per night in Andalusia, 27.6 euros in Castile and León and 29.8 euros in Castile-La Mancha, while Galicia, with 30 euros, is closer to the national average rate: 32 euros per person per night.
