The EDIT Forums analyse Smart Tourist Destinations

Santiago de Compostela hosts today and tomorrow these conferences organised by Amtega and the Galicia Tourism Agency.

 

The president of the Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, is one of the guests invited to help define the cross-border tourism model for Galicia and Northern Portugal.

 

Santiago de Compostela becomes for two days a meeting point for specialists and those interested in Smart Tourism Destinations. The City of Culture of Galicia hosts this Monday 10 and Tuesday 11, the EDIT Forums, organized by the Agency for Technological Modernization of Galicia (Amtega) and the Galicia Tourism Agency in the framework of the EDIT cross-border project they are carrying out in collaboration with a partnership of entities in Northern Portugal to “improve the management of tourism resources and information on their activity through ICT, transforming the tourism model based on innovation, technology, sustainability and accessibility to increase the competitiveness and profitability of the destination”.

 

The aim of the EDIT Forums is to bring together leading experts in the field to give visibility to Smart Tourism Destinations and address issues related to their meaning, importance and implementation from different fields. The first day will focus on platforms, experiences and sustainability in tourism, while the second day will focus on the importance of developing a data-driven tourism strategy.

 

The president of the Galicia Tourism Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, is one of the guests invited to participate in the forums. Together with the director of the Competitiveness Area of Galicia Tourism Agency, Ana Lestido, he will take part in the closing of the first of the two days planned.

 

These two days of activities will bring together representatives of public administrations, the business world, the research and academic world, technology centres, local agents and the university, to analyse and debate the tourism model of the cross-border project between the North of Portugal and Galicia.
