The Xunta contributes more than 270 thousand euros to the promotion of maritime tourism

The Consellería do Mar has approved the contribution of 277,000 euros under the first phase of the 2018 call for proposals for Coastal Action Groups with the aim of continuing to work on promoting synergies between these groups of local dynamisation so that they can access information and new ideas and learn from other groups, regions or countries. It also seeks to encourage and support innovation and to acquire skills and means that will to improve their participatory local development strategies.

Thus, the four projects approved for implementation are: Sea of Sails, Atlantic Lodging+Space Atlántico, Positioning in the market of the Galicia-Margalaica Lighthouse Route, to be executed in 2018 and 2019. The fourth project is Actions of dynamization and promotion of northern Galicia, Seas of Experiences, which will be executed during this year.

Mar de Velas is promoted by four groups, which are the GALP Seo de Fisterra Ría de Muros. Noia, who is the coordinator; the GALP Gulf of Ártabro Norte, the GALP Ría de Arousa and the GALP Ría de Pontevedra. Its objective is to promote the use and management of spaces to promote traditional marinas and the exploitation of activities related. To this end, a strategic plan will be developed within the framework of this initiative, which will allows the organisation and management of the varied offer of traditional boats establishing a model for their exploitation. The Consellería del Mar subsidizes this project with about 53,700 euros.

Morada Atlántica+Espacio Atlántico is an initiative of the eight GALPs in Galicia, which are: GALP Costa da Morte, who is the coordinator; GALP A Mariña Ortegal, GALP Ártabro Norte Gulf, GALP Ártabro Sur Gulf, GALP Seo de Fisterra Ría de Muros Noia Sustainable Coast, GALP Ría de Arousa, GALP Ría de Pontevedra and GALP Ría de Vigo-A Guard. It also has the collaboration of groups from Andalusia, Gran Canaria and also Portuguese. This project is a continuation and extension of the Morada Atlántica project, started in 2016 with the aim of developing a joint tourism initiative for the entire Atlantic coast of the European Atlantic area, while promoting the enhancement of the value of the Atlantic territories, with gastronomy as the guiding thread and developing the Network of Atlantic Museum Sites (Rema), specialized in marine culture. The Xunta supports this initiative with 123,500 euros.

Another approved project is Positioning in the market of the Route of the Lighthouses of GaliciaMargalaica, also of the eight groups that there are in Galicia. With it they seek to reinforce the Route of the Lighthouses of Galicia, created within the framework of the Margalaica cooperation project and subsidised in the 2016 call for proposals. This initiative is made up of more than 240 partners who provide tourist services and includes actions such as the creation of tourist products and the organization of a conference to promote this initiative. The Xunta subsidizes it with 54,850 euros.

The fourth subsidised cooperation project is the Promotion and energisation actions of North Galicia, Seas of Experiences, promoted by the GALP A Mariña Ortegal, who is the coordinator, and the GALP Golfo Artabro Norte. It seeks to enhance the value of the cultural and heritage heritage heritage related to the fisheries sector and tourism in the region the territory of these groups and to involve the local population in the knowledge, conservation and implementation of in value of sea heritage. For this purpose, it includes actions such as the holding of conferences
