Occupancy in Galician accommodations in August was 75.7%, according to data recorded by the Accommodation Data Monitoring and Analysis System (SIMADA) of the Galician Tourism Cluster.
According to SIMADA information, throughout the month the occupancy rate exceeded 80% on several days, with peaks of over 86%. Regarding the length of stay, the average was five days, and the average price per night was €118, although it also reached €130.
Regarding the origin of our visitors, 76% are Spanish and around 23% are international. Regarding the countries of origin of international travelers, Portugal is the most common, followed by the United Kingdom, Italy, and France. For domestic travelers, Madrid is the region of origin, followed by Galicia, the Basque Country, Castile and León, and Catalonia.
The figures for August significantly exceed those recorded in July, when the occupancy rate stood at around 64%, with peaks exceeding 86% during the Apostle’s long weekend. The average stay last July was half a percentage point lower than in August, at 4.5 nights, and the average price per night was around €91, with nights exceeding €100.
Regarding origin, the majority of visitors, over 74%, were from Spain and over 24% from other countries. The main countries of origin of travelers in July were Portugal, Poland, the United Kingdom, and Germany. Among visitors from other countries, domestic tourism, from Galicia itself, led the way, followed by Madrid, Castile and León, Andalusia, and Catalonia.
