Two hundred and thirty-six applications make up this year’s Tourist Apps Guide 2018, produced jointly by the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda, through SEGITTUR, and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce. The guide to tourism applications celebrates its fifth anniversary with the inclusion of these apps created to make life easier for the traveler. Aware of the importance that new technologies for tourists, and especially the role that smartphones acquired in the organization of the trip, this is the fifth year that Segittur has again developed this guide of tourist applications, which includes an app for the organization of the tourist’s trip throughout the different stages of the trip (before, during and after).

In this edition, the guide offers information of interest to tourists in seven categories: transport, accommodation, leisure and catering, active tourism, destination guides, useful travel applications and smartwatch applications. The transport section includes apps linked to airlines, airports, trains or flight search engines. In accommodation, the user can find applications to find hotels, camping and rural establishments. The Leisure and Restaurant section offers a collection of apps to search and book restaurants, buy tickets, theme parks, discounts or leisure parks. While within Active Tourism, a total of applications are offered for skiing, trekking, scuba diving or sailing, among other options.

In the Destination Guides section, 42 apps are compiled to discover the tourist attractions of the different autonomous communities, the main national destinations, as well as the most visited international cities such as London, Paris or New York. It also includes a section on Useful Applications, where you can find coin converters, translators, case organizers or expense controllers. It also has a section of applications for Smartwatch, which respond to the needs of tourists at different stages of the trip.
