The president of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra, Luis López, and the representative of Tourism, Nava Castro, presented last Thursday, May 2, the participatory phase of the development of the Rías Baixas Tourism Strategy, with which they seek to consolidate the province as a smart tourist destination. The event, which took place at the Palacete de las Mendoza, was attended by the president of the Galicia Tourism Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, and the treasurer of the CTG and president of the Consortium of Tourism Entrepreneurs of Sanxenxo, Alfonso Martínez.
The provincial body will promote the participation of all interest groups in the tourism ecosystem. The operational framework of this strategic route for the Rías Baixas destination will cover until 2027, with a vision that places the horizon at 2030.
Once the stage of strategic analysis of the destination is completed, the Provincial Council now begins a listening phase characterized by participation with the tourism sector, and by the sharing of ideas. In this way, work tables will be held: six of them, focused on the “diagnosis validation”, convened in Vilanova de Arousa, Lalín, Marín, Vigo, Ponteareas and Baiona; and another six, focused on the “validation of strategic scope”, also convening the Tourism Board.
Furthermore, in this phase prior to the design of the strategy, surveys will also be carried out, contributions from professionals in the sector and citizens will be incorporated, and a website will be enabled on which the news in the development of the plan will be published.
