APEHL brings together hoteliers from all over the province for its annual party

This year, the professionals of the Lugo hotel industry held their annual gala in Viveiro, in the Val do Naseiro hotel, in a gala in which they presented the awards that Apehl gives annually to hoteliers with a long professional career in the sector and the people or organizations that unconditionally support the dissemination and promotion of the gastronomy and tourism of the region. The event brought together more than 150 hoteliers from different parts of the province and was attended by the mayoress of Viveiro, María Loureiro; the president of the Provincial Council, Darío Campos; the sub-delegate of the Government in Lugo, Ramón Carballo, and the territorial delegate of the Xunta de Galicia in Lugo, José Manuel Balseiro. Other representatives of Lugo and Galician society and politics were also present, among them the head of Lugo’s Provincial Tourism Department, Paloma Vázquez, and the councillor for Tourism of Viveiro’s City Council, María Soledad Rey; The secretary of the Parliament’s Bureau, Raquel Arias, the delegate of the Tourism Department of the Lugo Provincial Council, Eduardo Vidal, and the secretary of the Tourism Cluster of Galicia, Cesáreo Pardal.
The president of the Provincial Association of Hotel and Tourism Entrepreneurs of Lugo (Apehl), Cheché Real, was in charge of awarding the prize of Hotel and Catering Ambassador of the Province 2018 to Iñaki Albistur, in charge of the catering of the “E para comer, Lugo” stand in the Vuelta Ciclista a España, highlighting the work carried out during those years, as well as his kindness, generosity and good work with the whole team during all these years.
In addition, the association of hoteliers from Lugo also paid tribute to three other people who dedicated their lives to the profession. They received the prizes’Toda una vida en los fogones’ Alberto García, from the Restaurant Mesón de Alberto de Lugo, and Rosario Quelle and Manuel Balseiro, from the Hotel Ego de Viveiro.
Cheché Real recalled once again the recent 40th anniversary of the Association and stressed that “we are working and will continue to work in this direction because there are many of us who fight day by day for this sector.
