  • Galicia, prepared for the summer season with a tourist campaign that points out the Community as a reference destination.

This Tuesday, June 20, the Baiona Parador hosted the presentation of the new tourist campaign of the Galician Tourism Agency, entitled ‘Galicia feels good’. The event was attended by the president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Rueda Valenzuela, the mayor of the Baiona City Council, Jesús Vázquez Almuiña, the territorial delegate of the Xunta de Galicia in Viño, Ana Ortiz Álvarez, and the president of the Tourism Cluster of Galicia, Cesareo Pardal.

During his speech, the president of the Cluster highlighted that only in the first months of 2023 more than 1.2 million people chose Galicia, close to 20% more than the previous year. “Those who visit us this summer will be able to confirm that Galicia feels good,” said Pardal, adding that Galicia is a “territory blessed by nature that we are lucky to enjoy and are committed to caring for, because we have a historical, cultural, architecture and gastronomy that make up our hallmark”.

The tourist campaign, which will be active over the coming months, aims to promote natural landscapes, urban spaces and catering establishments in the four Galician provinces. In recent years, Galicia has consolidated its tourist possibilities in different areas such as thermal, rural, nautical, congress, gastronomic, ethnological and cultural tourism, being a reference in many of these types.

So far in 2023, the Pilgrim’s Office has already registered more than 155,000 walkers. This year the Xunta de Galicia announced the launch of the Xacobeo Xove program, an initiative that will offer discounts acquired through travel agencies adhering to the program. The Tourism Cluster is one of the collaborating entities in the agreement through which the initiative is launched, which seeks to promote the roads as a tourist experience among youth.
