‘Galicia Sustainable Destination’ adds eight new companies

  • Espazo Nature, Finca O Bizarro, Cabanas da Barcela, Hotel Casa Franco, Hotel Herbeira, Os tres Teixos, Finca Galea and Casal de Pelaio are the new companies that are already part of this tourist brand.
  • The Product Club now has more than 115 member companies and 154 sustainable tourism experiences.

The ‘Galicia Sustainable Destination’ product club continues to grow, adding eight new additions. During the evaluation committee meeting last Friday, October 25, the requests made by the responsible representatives of the companies Espazo Nature, Finca O Bizarro, Cabanas da Barcela, Hotel Casa Franco, Hotel Herbeira, Os tres Teixos, Finca Galea and Casal de Pelaio.

 

These entities join a group that includes the travel agency, restaurant, accommodation and complementary tourism sectors. Now, the club offers more than 154 sustainable experiences that come from more than 115 different companies.

 

The ‘Galicia Sustainable Destination’ initiative was born in 2022 promoted by the Galician Tourism Cluster with the support of the Xunta de Galicia. Its main objective is to highlight and integrate the Galician tourism offer that promotes the sustainable development of the destination, seeking to position itself as a reference both nationally and internationally. It is a tourist product club that covers various facets of the Galician offer, promoting respect for the environment, culture and society.

To join ‘Galicia Sustainable Destination’, companies must meet at least one qualifying requirement (sustainability certification; Fair’n Green; Green Star of the MICHELIN Guide; membership in the Slow Tourism North of Galicia project, or the Ecotourism Product Club of Spain or an environmental certification: ESO 14000, EMAS, etc.) or 100% of the mandatory ones and 33% of the evaluable ones.

 

Membership can be requested through the website galiciadestinosostible.com. Once the advisory committee accepts the membership, the company will manage its offers from the portal and will enjoy the advantages of belonging to the product club for free.
