Galicia, the leading region in the satisfaction survey among foreign tourists

96% of visitors to Spain this summer were satisfied or very satisfied with their trip, and more than half of them will return in the next 12 months.

 

The leisure offer is the aspect they value most highly, according to data released by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism officials at the 2nd Turespaña Convention.

 

The Spanish tourism sector in general and the Galician tourism sector in particular have passed the last summer season with very good marks from foreign visitors. The results of the Visitor Satisfaction Survey 2022 made public during the 2nd Turespaña Convention, held in Barcelona, by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Reyes Maroto; the Secretary of State for Tourism, Fernando Valdés, and the Director of Turespaña, Miguel Sanz, show that 96% of visitors arriving from other countries rated their experience in our country as satisfactory or very satisfactory.

 

The ministry officials explained that all the autonomous communities of destination move in similar ranges, although they specified that Galicia stands out along with Madrid and Andalusia in the degree of satisfaction shown by visitors, while another territory with great weight in the tourism sector, such as the Balearic Islands, is slightly below the average.

 

The data, taken from more than 10,000 surveys carried out between June and August, also show that the leisure offer is the aspect most highly valued by visitors, followed by infrastructure, transport, the environment, restaurants and accommodation, all with more than 90% satisfactory or very satisfactory responses. Next, with 75%, is sustainability, a factor on which just over 20% of respondents had no opinion.

 

Staff treatment, rooms, and value for money are the aspects most appreciated by these visitors when evaluating the accommodation. As far as the restaurants are concerned, the service and treatment is also the most highly rated element, followed by comfort, the culinary offer and the wines.

 

All these positive aspects mean that more than half of the visitors surveyed (55%) expressed their intention to return in the next 12 months.
