The Euroregion Galicia-North of Portugal, AECT, completed 2 days of work, held in Portugal and Galicia, within the framework of the ClusterTur_GNP project, with the collaboration of Tourism of Porto and North of Portugal, ATP, and Tourism of Galicia, and with the technical assistance of the Galicia Tourism Cluster.
During these sessions, the main actors of the Euroregion focused on a common objective: to strengthen cross-border cooperation in the field of tourism, and especially among its entrepreneurs, and to discuss their will to create a destination at scale by promoting it jointly.
The aim of this meeting was to facilitate the exchange of ideas and the creation of synergies between the participants, with a dynamic and participative approach to the development of joint tourism strategies for the territory. These working tables are part of the cross-border tourism diagnosis process, a key step in defining the strategy of the Galicia-North Portugal Cross-Border Tourism Cluster.
The nearly 90 businessmen from Galicia and the North of Portugal, present at these working days, have enriched the idea with their contributions and have not hesitated to support this idea of the future and even proposed the suitability of a destination management entity, but also pointing out necessary proposals such as better and greater connectivity, with an impact on high speed and expressed a great will to create a destination of a more ambitious scale and with greater international notoriety.
ClusterTur_GNP, co-financed by the European Union through the INTERREG 21-27 program, aims to consolidate the Euroregion as a reference tourist destination, taking advantage of its rich cultural, landscape and gastronomic diversity, uniting two consolidated destinations and taking advantage of synergies for a destination on a larger scale.
