Galician Tourism Consolidates Growth in Profitability and Revenue in 2025

  • Hotel Revenue Exceeds €451 Million and Sector Profitability Grows by 7% at Year-End

The Galician tourism sector closed 2025 with positive economic performance, strengthening its capacity to generate value and improving the profitability of the business, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

Throughout the year, hotels and guesthouses achieved revenues of €451.2 million, representing a 5.2% increase compared to 2024. This improvement in revenue was accompanied by a 7% increase in the sector’s overall profitability, consolidating a growth trend based on efficiency and the optimization of the tourism offering.

  • Strong Performance in the Domestic and International Markets

Regarding overnight stays, the domestic market reached a record high of 6.4 million nights, while international tourism approached 4 million nights, reinforcing the importance of foreign markets and the progressive diversification of demand. Tourism by Galician residents also performed well, reaching 3.2 million nights, with stable growth throughout the year.

By type of establishment, growth was particularly significant in non-hotel accommodations, such as campsites, rural tourism establishments, and hostels (+4%), which showed more dynamic growth than hotels and guesthouses (+1.8%). This trend contributes to a more balanced distribution of tourism activity across the region, with a direct impact on the local economy and the development of rural areas.

The data for December confirm this positive trend, with a 5% increase in overnight stays compared to the same month in 2024 and an improvement in occupancy levels, thus closing a year marked by the consolidation of a more profitable, diversified and sustainable tourism model for Galicia.
