The global incentive travel market will grow by 400% in the next decade

  • The report “Incentive trips: keys, dimension and reality of a basic context in the tourism economy”, by the Association of Incentive Travel Agencies (IDEMICE) with the support of the Spanish Tourism Board, highlights the strength of incentive trips, with a forecast to reach 200,000 million in 2031.

This exhaustive study reflects a ten-year projection of the global incentive travel market, estimating a growth of 400%.

In 2022, this activity generated an economic return of more than 5.1 billion euros in our country, with a direct impact close to 1.3 billion euros.

In terms of employment, MICE tourism provides nearly 6,000 jobs.

These figures, ten years ahead, reflect the recovery of the business to 2019 levels, pre-Covid dates.

The reasons for the recovery are the type of customer (higher spending), the possibility of building loyalty and the complementary nature of this tourist offer.

MICE tourism reinforces the positioning of the destination as a driver of business opportunities and works in favor of other tourism segments, such as gastronomy, culture or leisure.
