The sport of golf and its influence on tourism demand is the focus of a work group promoted by the Galician Golf Federation

With the aim of promoting joint actions to promote golf tourism in Galicia, the headquarters of the Galician Golf Federation in A Coruña hosted a working table in which a group of professionals linked to tourism and this sport practice met.

Under the title “The sport of golf and its influence on tourist demand”, the meeting served to jointly promote new strategies to capture flows of golfers of national and international origin to Galicia. The working group included the participation of the president of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, Gonzaga Escauriaza.

Among the different actions for 2018, the project of the Galician Tourism Cluster “Celtic Spain Golf & Wellness” stands out, an action that aims to sign agreements between London and Galician golf clubs that will generate exchange of players.
The day was held coinciding with the LET Access Series women’s professional circuit, which for 6 consecutive years has brought together 129 players from 29 countries, mainly from England, France and Spain, on the golf course of the Hotel Oca Augas Santas Balneario & Golf. This is the only event held in Spain, of the 12 that are part of the Circuit and one of the best examples of how the sport of golf promotes a tourist destination.
