Cluster Turismo Galicia increases number of contacts and associates present at ITB Berlin

The delegation, composed of 21 members, held more than fifty contacts between scheduled by the CTG and managed individually

March 11, 2015.- For the second consecutive year, the CTG again present in the most important international tourism fair, the ITB Berlin, which closes its doors this weekend with plans to overcome again the number of professionals and visiting public. This time there were a total of 21 entrepreneurs who traveled on this trade mission under the umbrella of Tourism Galicia Axencia this fair for the international tourism sector together with FITUR and the World Travel Market.

At the stand of Galicia at the fair the CTG managed a workspace in which the professional meetings followed, with the aim of increasing the level of knowledge of tourism Galician while new business relationships with tour operators and agents are set the German market interested in expanding or start marketing in Galicia. During these two days of work, have managed more than 50 contacts, including 17 meetings with directors and product managers scheduled directly by the CTG for its members, mostly Germans, are counted which must be added the each partner kept on their own.

Galicia, quality destination
As for the professional profiles that have been counting, most have been operated focusing on active tourism, cultural and gastronomic interested in tourism as well as seeking to expand family tourism destination options in Spain with a quality destination. In addition, contact has been established with German tour operators. No wonder the German market and is the second most amount issuer to Galicia in the number of foreign tourists, only behind the Portuguese and now represents 11.2% of foreign visitors it receives our community.

Following the success of the previous edition, this time the number of entrepreneurs who have participated in the mission has almost doubled from twelve last year to 21 this year. The mission, with the presence of the director of the Turismo de Galicia, Nava Castro, and the President of CTG, Francisco González, allow to present those tourism products that are best suited to the German market. In 2015 more than 180,000 visitors, of which 110,000 are tourism professionals to seek new business opportunities for its tourism companies were received. The fair takes place at the Messe Berlin, with more than 160 thousand square meters of exhibition where more than 10,000 exhibitors from 190 countries participate.

In the mission includes representatives of the Association of Conference Centres of Galicia, the Provincial Association of Hopitality of Lugo (APEHL) of the Galician Federation of Rural Tourism Consortium Tourism Business of Sanxenxo, the Hospitality Association de Compostela, the Association of Accommodation (Hospeco) and Hospitality a Coruña, of the Federation of employers of Hospitality and Pontevedra agencies, tour operators and entrepreneurs.
