The Carné +65 continues to grow and now has nearly 900 participating hotels in Galicia

  • Semáforo de Fisterra hosted a presentation event last week, attended by the Regional Minister of Social Policy and Equality, Fabiola García, and the Vice President of the Cluster, Jesús Picallo

The Carné +65 continues to expand its network of participating establishments throughout Galicia. Nearly 900 hotel businesses now offer benefits and discounts to people over 65 thanks to this initiative by the Xunta de Galicia (Government of Galicia), which seeks to promote the well-being of this group while boosting economic activity, including tourism.

During the event held on July 23 at hotel O Semáforo de Fisterra, the Regional Minister of Social Policy and Equality, Fabiola García, presented the establishment with the official distinction, which offers a 10% discount to card holders. The hotel Faro de Lariño (Carnota) and the Banco Azul (Fisterra) also joined this membership.

The Vice President of the Clúster Turismo de Galicia, Jesús Picallo, participated in the event, receiving the awards as the establishment’s manager and expressing his support for the program. Picallo (himself a holder of the +65 Card) emphasized the strategic value of this tool, which allows seniors to access advantageous conditions in accommodations, travel agencies, shops, wellness centers, and leisure services, among others.

  • An initiative that benefits seniors and boosts the tourism sector

The program, which is completely free, already has more than 600,000 users and expects to reach 1,000 participating establishments before the end of the year. Businesses interested in joining this network can do so through the initiative’s official website, where you can also find information about how it works and the requirements.
