2023 is a positive year for travel agencies. According to the annual balance presented by the Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies (CEAV), 60% of travel agencies expect to improve their turnover compared to 2019, a record year for the sector. This percentage stands out compared to that registered in 2023 on the same question, where only 37.3% of agencies claimed to improve their sales compared to before the pandemic.
Among the agencies whose billing improved, 52.8% affirm that this improvement was less than 25%; while 34.8% consider that the increase was between 25 and 50%; and only 12.4% declare to improve their billing by more than 50%. Furthermore, looking to 2024, agencies have moderately optimistic forecasts: 30.5% believe that they will improve billing, and 51.4% believe that it will remain stable.
Regarding the turnover obtained this year compared to 2022, 75.7% of travel agencies improved, and 17.5% remained stable. Among the entities whose billing improved, 51.7% affirm that this improvement was less than 25%; while 37.8% consider that the increase was between 25 and 50%; and 10.5% declare to improve their billing by more than 50%.

Among the most popular destinations, Egypt, the United States and Europe stand out among the international destinations, with France and Italy at the top. The Caribbean, cruise ships, Japan and Thailand were also in high demand.
At the national level, the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Andalusia and Madrid stand out as the most requested, highlighting a notable increase on the Cantabrian and Galician coast
