  • This Tuesday, September 3, the deadline to register for the VII National Ecotourism Congress opens.

Between October 22 and 24, the 7th edition of the National Ecotourism Congress will be held in the Xeopark of the Basque Coast (Geoparkea Euskal Kostaldea).

The National Ecotourism Congress emerged as an initiative proposed by the Ecotourism Association in Spain to the Secretary of State for Tourism and the Autonomous Organization of National Parks in 2016, given the need to lay the foundations and criteria for the adequate development of ecotourism in our country. with all the actors involved, and ensure that this product contributes to local sustainable development and nature conservation. In its successive editions, the National Ecotourism Congress served to monitor the needs of the sector and to continuously evaluate the promotional actions undertaken by the actors involved, so that efforts are added to promote the Ecotourism product in Spain.

The congress is aimed at professionals involved in the product and management of ecotourism destinations, that is, local managers of public administrations, managers of protected spaces, companies in the tourism sector and media linked to ecotourism.

Pre-registration begins on September 3. Places are limited and subject to a selection process by the organization, based on the participation criteria they defined. Registration costs €80, with part of this amount allocated to a nature conservation project in the Basque Coast Geopark.
