A total of 76 players met at the RNCGSS course in Basozabal, in the Basque Country, designed by Chema Olazabal, which received participants in perfect condition to dispute the fifth and penultimate test of the Circuit Senior Golf Turismo de Galicia. The light rain fell in the first hour of the tournament, did not prevent the test was a success. The players already knew that in the tee of the 10 a tent with Galician products awaited them to recover forces and that before the delivery of prizes a tasting with abundant Galician gastronomic delights would be offered.

Jaime Beñaran was the absolute winner in the Scratch category with 35 points, followed in second place by Mikel Sánchez with 30 points. The handicap winner was Javier Larrasoaña with 41 stableford points, followed by José Ramón Arzallus, who achieved a result of 40 points. In the Ladies category, the best was Estrella Choperena with 40 points, who also won the Aceites Abril prize for the closest ball on the 4th hole (5.52m). The winner of the senior master category (player over 70 years old) was Rafaela Argamasilla with 37 points. The winners will dispute the final on September 24th and 25th in the field of the hotel Balneario Oca Augas Santas in Patón (Lugo).

As for the special prizes, the best drive, Martinódax prize, the ladies’ prize was won by Elisa García and the gentlemen’s prize was won by Jesús Aguinaga. The nearest ball on the 14th hole, Viña Farnadas prize was awarded to Luis Puerta (3.89m). The prize forrabolas courtesy of Hotel Rua Villar and Real Aeroclub de Santiago was for the penultimate handicap Alfredo Domínguez.

The organization wants to thank the great reception, the treatment and the collaboration received by the people in charge of the club. The next test will be held on July 18 at the Asturian golf course of Castiello.
