The third edition of Turislab, the business accelerator for the tourism sector led by the Xunta de Galicia, begins

Turislab, the business accelerator for the tourism sector led by the Xunta de Galicia, starts its third edition with new features. The objective of this initiative is to create an open ecosystem and a network of resources for innovative projects with high impact on society specialized in sustainable and quality tourism.

 

After the good reception of previous editions, in which innovative ideas from the Galician tourism sector were trained and mentored, the initiative adds the incorporation of Portugal. This year, in addition to Turismo de Galicia, the Chamber of Commerce of Pontevedra, Vigo and Vilagarcía de Arousa, and the Alto Minho Intermunicipal Community will participate.

 

The accelerator enables registration for projects in the pre-seed phase, with less than a year of activity, focused on tourism: rural tourism, tourist services, travel agencies, hotels, vacation accommodations, wine tourism, adventure tourism, sustainable tourism and leisure offers. The initiative has different categories depending on the focus of the projects: Camino de Santiago, Travel Tech, Sustainability, Coastal Tourism, Social Tech, Gastro Tech and Infrastructure Track.

 

The deadline for entrepreneurs in the tourism sector of Galicia and Northern Portugal to present their entrepreneurial projects remains open until December 26 through the page https://turislab.gal/es/inscripcion/.

 

Program phases

 

After pre-registration, those selected will move on to a pre-academy phase, where those chosen will receive a first contact, for five weeks, in which they will work on the business plan and the viability of the proposal will be measured. From this phase, 10 of the 15 initially pre-selected projects will be finalists.

 

The second phase will last seven months. In this, the accelerator will offer support so that the projects grow and move forward. There will be training in communication, marketing and market studies.

 

The third phase is the Investors Day event, where investors interested in the projects accelerated by Turislab will be able to learn about the ideas and their creators, opening the possibility of obtaining the necessary support to start the real launch on the market.
